Is West Sound, Washington a real place?

Accepted Answer

West Sound is a fictional city, though it is loosely based on Olympia, Washington. There is a West Sound "area" on Orcas Island, Washington, but it is not a city with a West Sound Police Department, etc. Stanton Inlet and the other local geographic locations are from my imagination.

Why do you write crime fiction?

I have always loved mysteries (Encyclopedia Brown, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, etc.). As an adult, I read a lot of crime ficiton; however, I found much of it gets very fantastical and often includes women or little girls being victimized. Yes, that happens in the world, far too much, but there are many other crimes that don't take people's minds to such dark places. Books like that are hard to find, so I decided to write for that gap in the genre.

In what order should the books in the On the Sound series be read.

Accepted Answer

While the books could be read out of order, they are best when read in the correct order to get the best character and relationship development. Book 1 is Explosion on the Sound. Book 2 is Deadly Deals on the Sound. Book 3 is Stolen Hearts on the Sound. Book 4 is Nowhere on the Sound.
